Use a Variety of Word Types to 

Build Your Child’s Language

Children’s first words are often the names of people (“mama”) and things (“ball” and “milk”). But as your child’s language develops, they need to learn other types of words, including verbs (action words) and adjectives (words that describe) in order to combine words and make little sentences. While interacting with your child, remember to use a variety of words when talking about the things your child is interested in.
