Our mission is to enable parents and professionals to transform their daily interactions with young children to build the best possible lifelong social, language and literacy skills. This includes children with or at risk of language delays/disorders, autistic children or children who may benefit from social communication support.

We fulfill our mission by:

  1. Creating programs in which groups of parents and other caregivers learn how to promote children’s social, language and literacy development during everyday activities.
  2. Training speech-language pathologists/therapists to lead Hanen Programs® and to offer effective 1-1 Hanen parent coaching in their day-to-day work with families.
  3. Training speech-language pathologists and early childhood education consultants to provide in-service education that gives childcare providers and preschool teachers the skills to facilitate children’s social, language and literacy development in early childhood settings.
  4. Developing outstanding, practical, user-friendly resources.
  5. Participating in leading-edge research in our field to ensure that our programs are evidence-based.
  6. Providing our members with supportive services and continuing education that is responsive and relevant.
