This mandatory assignment prepares you for full participation in the workshop. You’ll learn about the foundation of the Hanen approach, familiarize yourself with key principles of adult education, and start thinking about how the content may apply to a particular child on your caseload.

In a small online group, you'll participate in a series of highly interactive and personalized learning sessions, led by a Hanen instructor. Each session includes discussion and small group practice activities, as well as the opportunity to reflect and receive feedback from your peers and the instructor.

You gain an all-inclusive license that enables you to coach and support parents of children with language delays in a variety of contexts, including group Hanen Programs (in-person and online) and 1-1 Hanen parent coaching.
A one-year, renewable Hanen membership that includes ongoing clinical support and professional development opportunities.

Financial: Cindy Conklin, M.Cl.Sc., was Program Director for the It Takes Two to Talk® Program at The Hanen Centre for ten years. Her responsibilities included developing resources for It Takes Two to Talk® – The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Language Delays. She is co-author of the It Takes Two to Talk® Leaders Guide. Cindy is contracted by The Hanen Centre to lead It Takes Two to Talk® and Target Word™ workshops for speech-language pathologists and has contributed to the development of materials for the It Takes Two to Talk® workshop. The Hanen Centre holds the copyright to all resources and materials and Cindy receives no financial benefit from their sale. She uses Hanen resources in her day-to-day work with families and offers It Takes Two to Talk® and Target Word™ programs to parents. Non-financial: No other relevant non-financial relationships exist.
Important: Please ensure that you have all the items above before you register. If you register and then find that you cannot meet these requirements (with the exception of the second screen) we unfortunately will not be able to provide you with a full refund.
50% of the workshop fee will be refunded if written notification of cancellation is received and a substitute can be found. No refunds if a substitute cannot be found. No refund requests will be accepted after the workshop has already begun.
Due to the fast-paced, highly interactive nature of our workshops, participants must have a high proficiency in English (i.e. they must be able to understand English, respond to questions and contribute comfortably to group discussions, which involves practicing and applying concepts learned during the workshop). All materials will be provided in English.
Hanen resources are protected by international copyright law. No translations are permitted without advance written permission from The Hanen Centre.
Full attendance is required. This means completing the Pre-Workshop Assignment and attending all group sessions in full. No recordings will be available of the live sessions. Absences will not be approved. Please only register for a workshop for which you can attend all live group sessions in full. Please note that if you fail to meet the attendance requirements, you will not receive a license to offer the program or a Certificate of Completion.
